TAXONOMY: Malaise (1955) treated the genus as three separate genera: (1) Decaperreyia Malaise, 1955, with a filiform, 10- to 12-segmented antenna, (2) Tenuiperreyia Malaise, 1955, with a serrate, 17- to 20-segmented antenna, with the middle segments longer than broad, and with the maxillary and labial palpi 6- and 4-segmented, respectively, and (3) Heteroperreyia (sensu Malaise) with a 15- to 17-segmented antenna with the middle segments not longer than broad, shorter hind basitarsus, and the maxillary palpi 5- and 3-segmented, respectively. Of the seven known species, three (pseudoleprieuri, setava, and sordida) would belong to Decaperreyia, three (hubrichi, jorgenseni, and rensita) to Heteroperreyia, and one species (costata) to Tenuiperra). Smith (1990) included all species in a single genus.
